How the split works
- Posts break at the largest boundary that fits: a paragraph, then a line, then a sentence, then a word. A word is only cut when it is longer than a whole post.
- Numbering is counted. The “ 3/12” at the end of each post takes up characters too, and the split leaves room for it.
- Put
---on its own line to force a new post exactly where you want one. - Lengths use X's weighting, so links count as 23 and emoji as 2, the same as the character counter.
